Olek Klepacz
Olek Klepacz, whose full name is Aleksander Klepacz, is a Polish singer, musician, and lyricist most strongly associated with Formacja Nieżywych Schabuff. It is through that band that he built his public profile and became one of the recognizable voices of Polish popular music from the late 1980s and 1990s onward. His story in the group did not begin as a frontman, but as a keyboard player. Formacja Nieżywych Schabuff was founded in 1982 in Częstochowa, and Klepacz was among its founders at a time when the act still operated under the name Formacya Nieżywych Schabuf and had a more avant-garde, cabaret-pop character. - Olek Klepacz was not the original lead singer of Formacja Nieżywych Schabuff, he first played keyboards in the band and only became its frontman after Jacek Pałucha left in 1989.
- That lineup change had major artistic consequences, because after he took over as vocalist, the band moved more clearly toward pop and built the broad mainstream recognition it later enjoyed.
- As frontman, he is associated with most of the group’s best-known later-era hits, including “Baboki”, “Żółty rower”, “Lato”, “Da da da”, “Mów mi Elvis”, and “Ławka.”
