Paweł Golec is one of the most recognisable musicians on the Polish popular music scene where pop, folk and a strong instrumental background often meet. He is most strongly associated with Golec uOrkiestra, where he works as vocalist, trombonist, composer and lyric writer, co creating the artistic core of the band since its foundation. His path to that position began with formal musical training. He first studied trombone at a music school in Bielsko-Biała and later studied jazz and popular music at the Academy of Music in Katowice. - He studied trombone at the Stanisław Moniuszko State Music School in Bielsko-Biała and later studied jazz and popular music at the Academy of Music in Katowice, which gives him a much stronger formal instrumental background than many mainstream pop artists.
- In Golec uOrkiestra he is not limited to trombone work, because sources also credit him with songwriting and composition, and songs such as “Lornetka”, “Słodycze” and “Pędzą konie” are linked with his authorship.
- Before and alongside his main work with Golec uOrkiestra, he was connected with Alchemik Acoustic Jazz Sextet, the project Ściernisco and session work, showing that his career extends beyond one famous band name.
