• Rebeka is a Polish electropop project founded in 2008 by Iwona Skwarek. Two years later, Bartosz Szczęsny joined her, and from that point onward Rebeka operated as a duo built around the collaboration between a vocalist-composer and a producer-instrumentalist.
• From the beginning, the band focused on synthesizer-driven sound and placed its music at the intersection of indie and electropop. That aesthetic was not just surface styling, but the core of Rebeka’s identity, setting the project apart from the more guitar-oriented strands of Polish alternative music in the early 2010s.
• The recording debut was confirmed with the EP “Stars” in 2012, while the real breakthrough came with the album “Hellada” in 2013. That record was named Polish Album of the Year 2013 by Gazeta Wyborcza, which immediately established Rebeka as an act that mattered not only to electronic listeners, but to the wider alternative scene as well.
• The following years brought further catalogue development, first the EP “Rebeka” in 2015, then the album “Davos” in 2016, and later “Post Dreams” in 2019. This sequence shows a duo that developed consistently rather than peaking around a single high-profile debut.
