RSC

RSC was formed in November 1981 in Rzeszów and from the beginning was rooted in the student environment of the city’s higher education scene. The band’s first confirmed concert took place in March 1982 at Hala Walter, and in that same year it won second prize at the Jarocin festival, which gave it a fast entry into the national rock circuit. After its Jarocin breakthrough, the band recorded several songs for Polish Radio, including “Życie to teatr”, and in the following years it appeared at many major rock events across Poland. Its first album, “RSC”, also known as “fly rock”, was released by Polskie Nagrania, and was followed by a cassette featuring songs such as “Maraton rockowy” and “Muzyka semaforów”....

Artist Trivia

  • RSC moved beyond the local scene very quickly, because only a few months after its debut it won second prize at Jarocin 1982.
  • In 1983 the group returned to Jarocin not as a newcomer anymore, but as one of the festival’s featured acts.
  • The band’s first two major releases, the album “RSC”, also known as “fly rock”, and the cassette “Życie to teatr”, both achieved Gold Record status.
  • After its first breakup in December 1984, the band came back several times, which makes its history clearly phase-based rather than continuous.
