Maanam
Maanam is one of the most important bands in the history of Polish rock, most strongly associated with Kora and Marek Jackowski, although its roots go back to 1975, when Marek Jackowski and Milo Kurtis formed the acoustic duo M-a-M in Kraków. In 1976 John Porter and Kora joined the lineup, and after Kurtis left, the group functioned as Maanam Elektryczny Prysznic before ultimately settling on the shorter name Maanam. The safest point to treat as the band’s phonographic debut is 1981 and the album Maanam, even though the project had already existed earlier and had attracted major concert and radio attention before releasing its first LP.
