Xxanaxx
Xxanaxx is a Warsaw-based Polish duo founded in 2012 by singer Klaudia Szafrańska and producer Michał Wasilewski. From the beginning, the project was rooted in electronic music, building its identity through cool, sensual vocals and production that sat between synthpop, alternative pop and contemporary electronics. The band’s earliest confirmed release was the single “Disappear”, issued in December 2012. In 2013, the duo followed that introduction with “Xxanaxx EP” on U Know Me Records, strengthening its profile within Poland’s alternative scene. Its wider breakthrough came with the album “Triangles”, released on May 27, 2014 and distributed by Warner Music Poland. The record reached number 31 on the OLiS...
Artist Trivia
- The band’s name comes from the psychoactive drug Xanax, which gave the project a deliberately cold and slightly provocative identity from the start.
- Xxanaxx first appeared with the single “Disappear” and only later followed with the debut EP “Xxanaxx EP” on U Know Me Records, so the group’s breakthrough unfolded in stages rather than through one big launch.
- Their debut full-length album “Triangles” was distributed by Warner Music Poland and reached number 31 on the Polish OLiS chart, a strong result for a project emerging from the alternative electronic scene.
- On “FWRD”, the duo pushed its sound away from a synthpop-heavy balance and closer to pop, while also bringing in Ten Typ Mes as a guest.
