Daab
Daab is one of the most important bands in the history of Polish reggae, founded in Warsaw in late 1982 and making its public debut in spring 1983. The group emerged from the Riviera-Remont student club environment and developed its own version of reggae, combining reggae and dub with a distinctly Polish melodic sensibility and touches of rock. The classic line-up was built around Dariusz Gierszewski, Andrzej Zeńczewski, Artur Miłoszewski and Piotr Strojnowski. In that formation, the band recorded the single “Do plastica / Przed nami wielka przestrzeń” and then the debut album “Daab,” which introduced songs that still define the band’s legacy. - The name Daab was created from the first names of three co-founders, Dariusz, Andrzej and Artur, which reflects how personal the group’s original core really was.
