KONIEC ŚWIATA
Koniec Świata is a band from Katowice that has been shaping its own identity since 2000 through a mix of ska, punk and rock, with occasional folk color and brass-driven looseness in the arrangement style. The central figure throughout the band’s entire history is Jacek Stęszewski, the founder and the only member who has remained continuously involved from day one. The beginning was unusually fast, because after just seven months of playing together the band recorded its debut album “Korzenie,” and soon after that it started performing intensively and appearing at notable festivals. - The debut album “Korzenie” was recorded after only seven months of playing together, which quickly pushed the band onto the live circuit and festival stages.
- “Granat w plecaku” from the album “Kino Mockba” was nominated for the 2005 Bisery radio award for best lyrics, and the band also released its first music video for “Atomowe czarne chmury” during that period.
- “Burgerbar” became the group’s best-selling release at that point and placed fifth in Antyradio’s poll for the best album of 2007.
- In 2008, Koniec Świata appeared as one of the main acts at the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity concert in Warsaw, broadcast by TVP2, which significantly broadened its exposure.
