Łąki Łan
Łąki Łan is a Polish band from Warsaw, founded in 1999 by keyboardist Jarosław “Poń Kolny” Jóźwik and drummer Piotr “Mega Motyl” Koźbielski while they were still in high school. From the outset the group stood out by blending funk, rock, electronic music, and punk energy, combined with a highly theatrical “meadow” stage concept built around costumes, alter egos, and distinctive nicknames. Guitarist Michał “Bonk” Chęć joined soon after, and frontman Włodzimierz “Paprodziad” Dembowski became the band’s key vocalist and lyricist, with his surreal language, neologisms, and “flowery” lyrics becoming central to its identity. Artist Trivia
- Polish Radio and Antyradio emphasise that the band started as a high‑school project founded by classmates Piotr Koźbielski and Jarosław Jóźwik.
- On the third album “Armanda,” critics pointed out the simultaneous presence of electro, synth‑pop, reggae, funk, and 1990s dance, illustrating how broadly the band understands the idea of “funk.”
- Bartek Królik and Marek Piotrowski brought in experience from Sistars, a key Polish R&B/soul outfit, which sharpened Łąki Łan’s rhythm section and production values.
- The band has earned three Fryderyk nominations, including for “Armanda” and “Syntonia,” which is notable for such an eccentric, conceptually “out‑there” funk/alternative act.
