Mgła

Mgła was founded in 2000 in Kraków by Mikołaj “M.” Żentara and was initially conceived as a studio-only project. In its early phase, the band worked with drummer Daren, and both musicians were also connected to Kriegsmaschine, which immediately placed Mgła within a specific branch of the Polish black metal scene. The first clearly confirmed release was the 2005 split “Crushing the Holy Trinity (Holy Spirit)”, followed by the EPs “Presence”, “Mdłości” and “Further Down the Nest”. The full-length debut, “Groza”, arrived in 2008 and established the core of the band’s language, a cold, hypnotic form of black metal built more on atmosphere, repetition and melodic density than on overt spectacle.
